Brow shaping
Three ways to shape.
Wax for speed and clean lines. Tweeze for precision around grown-out shapes or sensitive skin. Sugar for an all-natural paste that’s gentle, effective, and kind to reactive skin. Your artist will recommend based on your brow density, skin sensitivity, and how you want them to look growing in.
-
Brow Wax
$35 · ~20 minutes
The fastest, most decisive shape. Hard wax used along the lower line and outer edges, with cleanup tweezing for stragglers. Best for: clients who like sharp, defined brows and aren't sensitive to wax.
Add-ons: Brow Tint $30 · Lip Wax $15 · Brow Lamination $75
-
Brow Tweeze
$40 · ~30 minutes
The precision option. Hair-by-hair removal with no wax involved — gentler on sensitive skin, better for grown-out shapes that need rebuilding. Best for: clients reactive to wax, anyone in retinol or photosensitive medications, or first-time-shapers.
Add-ons: Brow Tint $30 · Lip Wax $15
-
Brow Sugaring
$30 · ~30 minutes
The all-natural option. Warm sugar paste removes hair in the direction of growth — less breakage, less irritation, and gentle enough for the most sensitive skin. Best for: clients who react to wax, anyone who prefers an all-natural approach, or skin that's easily irritated.

Your appointment
What to expect.
-
1. Quick consult
Your artist looks at the natural growth pattern, asks about your aftercare routine, and confirms the shape you want. We don't push to remove more than what flatters your face — we'll often recommend leaving more than feels comfortable.
-
2. The service
Wax, tweeze, or thread depending on what you booked. Brow services run 20–30 minutes. Body waxing time depends on the area. We use hard wax on faces and sensitive areas for less pulling.
-
3. Aftercare guidance
Stay out of direct sun for 24 hours, no hot showers or saunas the same day, and skip exfoliants on the area for 48 hours. We'll give you a refresher when you check out.
Questions you'll probably have
FAQ
Wax, tweeze, or thread — which is right for me?
Wax if your skin handles it well and you want speed + clean lines (most people, most of the time). Tweeze if you have sensitive skin, are using retinoids, or are trying to grow your brows back to a natural shape. Thread if you want the most defined, sculptural arch — or if you don't tolerate wax. Your artist will steer you based on your skin and brow at the consult.
How often should I come in?
Brow shaping every 4–6 weeks for maintenance. Bikini and Brazilian: every 3–5 weeks during the active phase. Larger body areas (legs, back): every 4–6 weeks. Less frequent visits = more growth to remove = a slightly less comfortable session, so consistency matters.
Can I wax if I'm using retinol or other actives?
No on the affected area. Retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, salicylic acid, and certain prescription products thin the skin and make wax pulls likely to remove the top skin layer. Stop those products in the area for at least 5–7 days before your appointment, or switch to a tweeze or thread service. Tell us at booking so we can plan accordingly.
Does it hurt?
Wax is uncomfortable for the first few seconds, then settles. Hard wax (which we use on face, bikini, and Brazilian) hurts noticeably less than strip wax because it grips the hair, not the skin. Threading is sharper but quicker. Tweezing is the most controlled but takes the longest. Most clients describe brow services as 5/10 discomfort tops.
Can you do brow lamination too?
Yes — brow lamination is a separate service ($75) covered fully on our Lash Lifts + Brow Laminations page. Brow lam is the brow version of a lift — tames unruly brows into a soft, brushed-up shape that lasts 4–6 weeks. Often paired with brow shaping at the same appointment.
Can I book waxing services at La Jolla?
Brow shaping (wax, tweeze, thread) is available at both studios. Our full body waxing menu (Bikini, Brazilian, Legs, Back, etc.) is currently offered at Bay Park, and we're expanding waxing and sugaring services to La Jolla soon. Reach out and we'll help you book the right location.
