What to expect.

  • 1. Skin consultation

    Your esthetician evaluates your skin live — concerns, current routine, recent products, sun exposure, hormones. Every facial we do is customized to where your skin is the day you sit down, not a one-size-fits-all menu item.

  • 2. The treatment

    Cleanse, exfoliate, extract, treat, mask, hydrate. Specific steps and products vary by tier and skin needs. The Signature and Luxury tiers add LED, hand/arm massage, and dermaplaning. You're typically able to nap.

  • 3. Recommendations

    You leave with personalized at-home recommendations — specific products, application order, what to avoid this week, when to come back. We don't push retail; we recommend what your skin actually needs.

 

Aftercare basics

Protect the work.

First 24 hours: no heavy actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs), no makeup if possible, no aggressive cleansers, no waxing in the treated area. Skin is sensitized after extraction and treatment.

SPF every day, no exceptions. Especially after dermaplaning, microchanneling, or any exfoliating treatment. Sun damage on freshly treated skin is the #1 way to undo your facial.

Hydrate. Internally (water) and topically (the serum + moisturizer your esthetician sent you home with).

Cadence: Most clients book monthly to maintain results. Microchanneling protocols run on a different rhythm — your esthetician will recommend a schedule.

FAQ

Which facial should I book first?

If it's your first facial with us, the Signature Facial is the most-booked starting point — it covers everything in the SD Facial plus LED therapy and massage, so you get a full sense of what we do without committing to the longer Luxury session. If you only have an hour, the SD Facial is great. If you've had facials elsewhere and want the full works, go straight to Luxury.

Can I add dermaplaning, LightStim, or microchanneling to my facial?

Dermaplaning is built into the Luxury Facial. LightStim is built into the Signature and Luxury Facials. Microchanneling is its own service rather than an add-on (it requires a longer dedicated session and recovery time). Tell us at booking if you want to layer something specific and we'll plan time for it.

How often should I come in?

For maintenance: once a month. For active concerns (acne, scarring, anti-aging protocols): every 2–4 weeks during the active phase, then monthly after results stabilize. Microchanneling protocols typically run as a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

Are your facials okay during pregnancy?

Most of our facial work is pregnancy-safe, but certain ingredients (retinoids, salicylic acid, some essential oils) and treatments (microchanneling, ProCell with growth factors) are not. Always tell us before we begin if you're pregnant or nursing — we'll modify the treatment to a fully pregnancy-safe protocol.

Do you do extractions?

Yes — included in all three facial tiers. Skill matters here. Our estheticians are trained to extract without scarring, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or aggressive damage. If your skin is mid-breakout or mid-cycle, we'll take a more conservative approach and tell you why.

What products do you use?

Clean, professional-grade lines we'd use on our own skin. Our retail wall stocks iS Clinical, SkinCeuticals, Maya Chia, Colorscience, and Katya Love — the same brands we use in-treatment. We don't push retail at the end of facials; we recommend what we'd actually buy ourselves.

Why is skincare only at La Jolla?

Our licensed estheticians, full skincare equipment (high-frequency, LED, microchanneling), and treatment rooms are at La Jolla. Bay Park is our flagship for lashes, brows, and PMU; La Jolla is our destination for skincare and LightStim. Different specialties, both in San Diego.
